Hello March!

March is here! The beginning of Spring! It’s also that time of year that we start thinking about Summer, so we get more anxious to start a diet or start going to the gym more often. It’s that time of the year that we make all those new resolutions, following the new year’s resolutions. I know I do… and I am not ashamed to admit it!

As nature starts to bloom, we feel that same need. We want to detox, get fit, start new routines, take better care of ourselves. Nothing wrong with that, as long as we take some action. Wishful thinking will not get us anywhere. So, ladies, time to act! Continue reading Hello March!

Where to find your inspiration

These past two weeks have been a struggle. Too much pressure at work, too much sadness around me and my mood going up and down – well, mostly down to be honest. I always try to stay positive and I try to spread joy around and hope, and this is very rewarding for me as well. But sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by all the sadness I see in everyday people that it’s really hard to fight back and stay positive. 750 gr concentrated tomato juice
1 glass red wine

How to fight a bad day

Well, you know what they say! Love goes through stomach. So, what better way to show your love to your better half, than baking him something special. Valentine’s apple pies! Easy to make and delicious. You can serve them for dessert, or for a Valentine’s breakfast.

650 gr puff pastry, separated in 2 sheets
3 apples
60 gr butter
80 gr brown sugar
40 gr dried yellow raisins
Orange juice of ½ orange
1 shot glass of liqueur Grand Marnier (optional)
A little grated cinnamon
1 egg (for brushing the apple pies before baking)

Preparation time: 50 minutes
Cook time: 35-40 minutes

How to start your day feeling awesome!

I have a confession to make. I am not a morning person. I have never been. And by that, I don’t mean that I have the luxury to stay in bed late or to wake up without an alarm. On the contrary, I have been waking up early every morning, every working day for the last 18 years and I have been having a hard and stressful time almost every morning, especially during winter.

Recently I decided to make some changes in my life, I started looking for ways to reduce stress. And, guess what, one of the most stressful times was my morning routine. I was always getting up 10 minutes after my alarm was set, and I was running around like crazy, taking a shower, styling my hair, searching my closet (it’s amazing how everything seems to disappear when we are in a hurry…), sipping my coffee, collecting all the things I needed for the day… and checking the time every five minutes… where does time go?
