They are delicious and they help us fight wrinkles! What more can you ask?

Every day we use many different beauty products as part of our constant fight against wrinkles. Creams, serums, beauty masks, essential oils and many other products help us delay aging. Have you ever thought that your diet is also very important? A healthy diet strengthens our immune system and provides us with precious nutrients. Moreover, some foods have special antioxidant properties, helping us delay aging.
So if you want to earn extra points in the battle against wrinkles, be sure to include the following foods in your diet.

4 foods that help us delay aging and wrinkles.

  • Red peppers
They are especially rich in vitamins A, E and C. They also contain bioflavonoids, which are substances known for their healing and moisturizing properties for the skin. Generally, all red vegetables have unique antioxidant properties and they are our number one ally against aging.

  • Blueberries
Blueberries are rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, substances that fight free radicals in the body. Free radicals are those that cause aging and deterioration of our body. Blueberries are also rich in vitamins A, E and C. They also contain manganese, potassium and magnesium and they are a good source of fiber. All in all, they are good for our skin.

  • Tomatoes
They are rich in vitamins A, E, K, C, and B6. They also contain thiamin, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus, folate, and beta carotene. Tomatoes are also rich in lycopene. All these ingredients give them extra antioxidant properties and they make tomatoes an important ally not only for our health, but also for our beauty.

  • Salmon
Salmon is rich in polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for keeping cell membranes healthy. This means that they make our skin look fresh and young. It also contains vitamin E, which is very important for our beauty; it helps our skin in staying firm and it fights wrinkles.

So, we have to make those foods a part of our diet, if we want to fight aging more efficiently.

  1. I’m so young that I haven’t thought this in wrinkle point of view. However I’ve known that eating healthy, nutritious food will make your whole body including skin do better and stay healthier. Thank you for sharing these tips. I have one more reason to eat healthy! 🙂

    1. Prevention is always the best way. So, no matter how old you are, your eating habits may help your beauty in many ways and even delay wrinkles. 🙂

    1. Tomatoes have many things to offer to our health and our beauty. I used to think that they are not something special – I’ve been eating them all my life, so I guess I underestimated them. After researching their nutrional value, I was amazed!

  2. These are really nice foods. Not a fish gal myself. I was really hoping to read CHOCOLATE or chocolate cake. hahaha I guess it will have to be blueberries for me. 😉

    1. I happen to like fish, so I am lucky that way. As for chocolate, I am not going to lie – I can’t live without it!!! 🙂 Dark/bitter chocolate is a healthy option and its good for our health – in Greece we call it “health chocolate”!

  3. I honestly did not know that red peppers can help fight off wrinkles. I am at the stages of showing wrinkles, I think i’ll pick up a few for a salad.

    1. Red peppers and all red vegetables are very potent antioxidants, so they help us fight aging. 🙂

  4. Well, it’s a good thing I eat 3/4 of these foods just about daily! I don’t want wrinkles! But I also don’t like salmon, unfortunately. I hear it has so many benetifs.

    1. Many people don’t like salmon, I guess its strong taste is not welcomed from everybody. But if you are eating all the other foods, you’ll see their benefits. 🙂

  5. I never thought a minute about wrinkles until I turned 40 .. and now maintaining good skin has become a quest. I know when I’m eating whole foods .. avoiding sugar .. and getting enough sleep .. my skin glows. Anything else and it really shows!

    1. I started worrying about wrinkles at a young age, but I thought at first that beauty products is all I need. I still remember my brother’s mother-in-law saying to me “look at my skin, not too many wrinkles; it’s not the beauty cream, it’s because I ate a lot of fruits and healthy meals, when I was young”. I was in my early 20s then and it stuck with me. When I turned 30, I started researching the issue more. Now I’ve turned 40, so, as you say, everything – good or bad – shows on my skin. 🙂
