How to beat your anxiety quickly

5 ways to fight your anxiety right here and right now!

We all have been there many times. Anxiety strikes us without warning. Before taking an important test, before entering the room for a job interview, when you have to finish an important project at work, or even when you are about to have an important meeting in your personal life. Anxiety can appear as a slight pain in your stomach, as sweating, as a headache or it can even evolve into a serious panic attack.

No matter what the occasion is, or how severe your symptoms are, you have to learn how to fight it. You have to learn ways to relax yourself, so that you can achieve your goals and be happy.

Here are 5 ways that will help you beat your anxiety.

1. Breath

The first step is to focus on your breathing. Start inhaling through your nose for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four, again through your nose. Repeat for five times. If you aren’t surrounded by people, you can put one hand on the chest and the other on the belly and inhale deeply through your nose, making sure your diaphragm (not your chest) inflates with enough air to create a stretch in the lungs. Each time you inhale count to six and as you exhale through your nose, count to six again. Repeat for five or six times. Clear your mind and focus on your breathing.

2. Accept it

The second step is to accept what is happening to you. Anxiety can strike anyone, even people you think that are very strong and successful. It’s okay to accept the fact that you are anxious; this doesn’t mean that you are not going to fight it!

3. Put things in perspective

When you are anxious, your brain plays all kind of ticks on you. You may even think that you are having a heart attack. You just have to convince yourself that your symptoms are just fake warnings and that you are just anxious, nothing more. It’s not easy, but it really works. Your symptoms will go away, as soon as you realize what is really happening to your body.

You are a fighter and a winner!

4. Tell yourself it’s okay

You have to reassure yourself that everything will be okay. Tell yourself that you are going to be fine, no matter what. You are a fighter and a winner! Believe in yourself.

5. Focus on something positive

You also have to deal with all the negative thoughts ravaging your brain. Question every bad thought – come on now, is this really possible to happen? Not really. Is this the end of the world? Of course, not! Try to stay positive. Focus on something positive. Think of something that makes you happy and relaxes you. Put a big smile on your face and go on.

Sometimes it’s easy, some others you may need to try harder, but you can beat anxiety. You just have to try. If you are having serious panic attacks very often, you may also seek professional help. It’s okay to ask for help. It doesn’t make you weak. On the contrary, you will get stronger.

How do you fight anxiety? Have you ever experienced a panic attack?
