How to survive the end-of-Summer blues

8 tips to help you stay positive and happy after the end of Summer!

Summer holidays are long gone for most of us. We have already returned to our everyday routines. Children are back to school and, in a way, so are we. Days are starting to get shorter and the weather keeps reminding us that Autumn is here, whether we like it or not. Well, we don’t like it, that’s for sure. End-of-Summer blues are very common at this time of year. Here are some great tips to help you survive it!

1. Keep the Summer memories alive

You don’t have to forget all about Summer, in order to beat the end-of-Summer blues. On the contrary! Frame your favorite pictures, put some of them on your pc desktop, put your Summer souvenirs on display.

2. Stay focused on the positive things

Autumn has so many great things to offer. The weather gets cooler, so you don’t have to suffer from the extreme Summer heat. Comfortable clothes, cozy sweaters, hot chocolates, delicious meals and deserts made of the season vegetables and fruits, not to mention all the festivals and various events taking place at this time of year. Oh, and what about your favorite TV series that start again! So many things to look forward to!

3. Plan outdoor activities

The weather is still good, so you can plan many outdoor activities for your free time. Long walks enjoying the autumn scenery, exercising in nature or even organizing barbeques for the weekend. You don’t have to stay inside just because Summer is gone.

4. Plan a trip

Planning a trip for the near future, even a weekend getaway, can make you happy. The anticipation of a new adventure will keep your mind focused on that and you will feel more energized and happy.

5. Throw a party

What better way to welcome the new season than a party! It’s a great opportunity to get together with your friends, catch up after Summer and, of course, a great opportunity to have a lot of fun.

6. Re-organize and start fresh

A new season gives you a good excuse for a fresh start. So, take some time to re-organize your work schedule, your free-time activities and even engage in new activities. Now it’s a good time to finally attend those photography seminars, or learn a new language, whatever you have been postponing for so long. It’s also a good time to re-organize your home.

7. Pamper yourself

Plan a spa day with your friends or visit a hair salon and take special care of your hair, that has suffered from all the Summer activities. You can also arrange a special treatment for your face, it really needs some extra care after Summer. Take some yoga classes to help you relax your body and your mind. Or just take some to time to relax in a hot tub listening to music. Don’t forget to moisturize your skin well afterwards.

8. Update your wardrobe and makeup

You may feel sad to put away your bathing suits, your summer dresses and all the other Summer accessories, but think about all the new season accessories and clothes you can get! You don’t have to spend a lot of money, you can buy just a few new pieces, just enough to get you in the new season’s spirit. And don’t forget to update your makeup products, so that you can always look and feel gorgeous!

So, say goodbye to Summer and let the fun begin! Are you ready?
